Hon Nicola Grigg: On 4 November 2025, the previous Minister for the Environment received a letter from the Minister of Finance requiring a baseline reduction of 2 per cent or $3.8 million per annum across Vote Environment for Budget 2026. The letter directed that savings can be found from across the Vote. The Environmental Protection Authority was not in scope of the Budget savings exercise.
