Hon Brooke van Velden: The purpose of the pay equity regime is to provide a process that facilitates the resolution of pay equity claims where there is evidence of systemic sex-based undervaluation of work that is predominantly performed by female employees. Whether specific employers are hiring employees in particular occupations is a separate matter.
