22709 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: Further to the Minister’s response to Written Parliamentary Question 18192 (2025), what is the additional funding that has been provided through to 31 December 2025 for Workforce Development Councils and how will this funding be allocated?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Up to $15 million of funding has been made available. The funding will be allocated to each Workforce Development Council (WDC) based on their individual needs. The funding will support WDC disestablishment activities while ensuring continuity of standard setting and quality assurance functions, before transitioning to Industry Skills Boards from 1 January 2026. All WDCs are required to use their existing reserves before utilising any of the additional funding which is allocated to them.
