22607 (2024). Hon Peeni Henare to the Attorney-General
Written Question
Published date: 12 Jun 2024
22607 (2024). Hon Peeni Henare to the Attorney-General: What Cabinet papers, if any, has the Minister taken to Cabinet Committee during the period 27 November 2023 to 28 May 2024, by Cabinet Committee, title and date?
Hon Judith Collins: Regarding Crown Law, I have provided this information regularly to the member’s Party in answers to written questions. I also note that in many cases Cabinet papers attract privilege, including legal advice and litigation privilege. Determining privilege requires review and, sometimes, consultation with other Ministers. I do not believe it is a good use of resource to search six months of Cabinet papers in the circumstances. I would be prepared to reconsider this request if the member wishes to be more specific about the information he requires.
Regarding Parliamentary Counsel Office, a paper went to the Cabinet Appointments and Honours Committee on Tuesday 26 March 2024. The paper was entitled “Revision Bill Certifier: Reappointment”.
