22601 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning 12 May with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and how many roles are affected?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission consulted on proposed changes to employee roles, numbers and some functions. A consultation document was released to all staff on 26 March that proposed to disestablish 52 roles, create 30 new roles with a reduction of 22 roles. Submissions closed on the 9 April 2025 at 5.00 pm. Final decisions were released on the 7 May which disestablished 53 roles, created 31 new roles with a reduction of 22 roles. Staff are expressing interest in existing roles where there are more roles than people and/or new and vacant roles. The expression of interest process closes on the 14 May.
