Camilla Belich to the Minister for Māori Development: Were any relevant unions consulted prior to the announcement of the role reductions being made as part of savings made in Budget 2026 for votes the Minister is responsible for, if any; if so, on what date, and were the unions provided with the underlying business case, if one existed, broken down by agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that the Public Service Association (PSA) was consulted with before the announcement of role reductions being made in Budget 2026 and were provided with the underlying business case. These meetings occurred on: - 1 October 2025 - 22 October 2025 - 5 November 2025 - 26 November 2025 - 18 March 2026 - 26 March 2026 - 30 April 2026 - 2 June 2026
