22558 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Finance: Was the Public Service Commissioner consulted on the role reductions being made as part of savings made in Budget 2026 for votes the Minister is responsible for, if any, and what advice did the Commissioner provide, if anything, broken down by agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Nicola Willis: Yes, the PSC was engaged in the development of the public sector transformation plan and the FTE reduction targets. The public sector transformation announced in my speech on 19 May is included in Budget 2026. The Budget will be followed by a proactive release of documents informing budget decisions, including advice related to public sector transformation.
