Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Environment: What, if anything, is the average daily rate paid for external consultants and contractors, and how does this compare to the equivalent daily cost of the roles being disestablished as part of savings made in Budget 2026 for votes the Minister is responsible for, if any, broken down by agency, department, Crown entity, company, or other organisation for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Nicola Grigg: No decisions have been made about roles that may be affected by savings targets through Budget 2026. A question about the average daily rates for external consultants and contractors regularly included in the Supplementary Estimates Questionnaire for the forthcoming Estimates Examination for Vote Environment. The Environment Committee is expected to publish the responses to that Questionnaire in June 2026. I refer the Member to those responses once published.
