22382 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service: How many public sector collective agreements containing gender-based pay equity components were renegotiated or dropped since November 2023, and what rationale was recorded?

Hon Judith Collins: I am advised that pay equity bargaining and settlement agreements are separate from collective employment agreement bargaining and settlement agreements. Some pay equity settlements include pay equity review clauses in their settlement agreements and some of these review clauses may be reflected in relevant collective agreements. These clauses are no longer enforceable under the Equal Pay Act 1972 as amended in May 2025.
