22374 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many female workers in the health sector were impacted by decisions to delay or stop pay equity settlements, broken down by region, ethnicity and occupation?

Hon Simeon Brown: As the Member will be aware, the Government is not cutting women’s pay. The right to equal pay remains as it ever was. It is protected in law and will always be under this Government. Any claim to the contrary is misinformation. As I said to the Member in the House, I am advised that Health New Zealand does not hold all details about pay equity claims under the previous law.
