22155 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: What roles, if any, does the Minister see the creative and tech industries having in a reformed Vocational Educational and Training sector?

Hon Penny Simmonds: While Creative and Tech industries do not have a traditional apprenticeship model like other developed industries, the skills and experience learned in these courses are important to our economy and popular with school leavers. Prior to ROVE creative and technology qualifications below degree level were managed by NZQA. Final decisions on the makeup of ISBs have not been made.
