22049 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Children: What government resources, if any, have been spent in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, on a pay equity claim that will be halted, if any?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that they have spent $3,536.63 on external legal advice, to support its attendance at a mediated hearing with the Public Service Association, regarding a dispute relating to the outcome of a pay equity review. This hearing pre-dates the Pay Equity Amendment Bill but will be subject to the provisions of the Act when it receives Royal Assent.
