21961 (2025). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: Since 31 March 2025, has exotic Caulerpa been detected in any new locations in New Zealand, and if so, where are those locations?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Yes, small patches of exotic caulerpa were detected at Hauturu/Little Barrier Island on 5 May 2025. Biosecurity New Zealand is conducting surveillance, which will inform ongoing work.
