21087 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Statistics: How many Statistics NZ scheduled public releases, if any, have been cancelled in 2025 to date?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I have been advised that the Stats NZ Release Calendar publicly lists upcoming releases of official statistics. This is available on the Stats NZ website. It includes regular, scheduled information releases only and is published six months in advance. Releases can be delayed for various reasons, including to allow time for methodological improvements. The release calendar is updated, and customers consulted and provided with advanced warning of delays or cancellations wherever possible.
• In 2022 there were 282 scheduled releases, 10 were delayed and 1 was cancelled.
• In 2023 there were 272 scheduled releases, 14 were delayed and 0 were cancelled.
• In 2024 there were 281 scheduled releases, 7 were delayed and 1 was cancelled.
• Between 1 January 2025 – 8 May 2025 there were 97 scheduled releases of official statistics, 4 were delayed and 2 were cancelled.
• Two upcoming releases scheduled to be released between 5 May 2025 and 31 December 2025 have been delayed from their initial planned release date. The release dates have been updated on the Release Calendar on the Stats NZ website.
