21038 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Did Oranga Tamariki's Te Riu agree that the Oranga Tamariki Social Worker Workforce Strategy must incorporate the caseload sizing approach; if not, why not?

Hon Karen Chhour: No. Consideration of caseload and workload sizing is an important element of the social work workforce strategy, but not the only consideration in addressing workload. I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that work is underway to clearly define the conditions needed to support practice excellence at their sites, including caseload and workload sizing.
