21032 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Has Oranga Tamariki adopted a caseload benchmark of 10 to 12 cases; if not, why not?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that they do not have a specific policy on social worker caseloads, as caseloads high workloads are only one measure of total workloads. I have been further advised, however, the Oranga Tamariki collective agreements with the PSA and NUPE include a protocol for monitoring and supporting manageable workloads.
