20774 (2026). Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: What confirmation, if any, has the Minister received that the $21.008 million that has been transferred over the forecast period at Budget 2026 from the Ministry of Pacific Peoples to the Ministry of Social Development and Employment for the Tupu Aotearoa programme will be spent solely on Tupu Aotearoa?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I can confirm that for 2026/27, the funding transferred to the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) will be used for Tupu Aotearoa. From 1 July 2026, MSD will take over responsibility for operational decisions, including how Tupu Aotearoa and related services are delivered. The Ministry is working closely with MSD to ensure a smooth transition.
