Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Finance: Does the Minister stand by her statement in the answer to Written Parliamentary Question 17388 (2026) that “the Treasury intends to publish updated scenarios for the potential fiscal costs of purchases of offshore mitigation to contribute to New Zealand’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement at this year’s Budget Economic and Fiscal Update” [BEFU], and if so, why were these scenarios not included in the BEFU?

Hon Nicola Willis: Yes. The Treasury had informed me at that time that it was intending to publish updated analysis alongside the Budget Economic and Fiscal Update. The Treasury subsequently informed me that it would publish the updated analysis on 11 June. The analysis was published on that date.
