Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA advises that the estimated annual social cost of alcohol-related road deaths and serious injuries in New Zealand is approximately $1.835 billion (2024), of which around 2.9% involves drivers with a recorded breath alcohol level between 400 and 800 micrograms per litre.
