Rt Hon Winston Peters: The New Zealand Consulate in Los Angeles has been in regular contact with the Ms Wihongi, her family and legal representative. This included a visit to the detention centre in California on 30 April 2026, before Ms Wihongi was moved to a different facility in Arizona.
