20371 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Does entry into the Nurse Practitioner Training Support Scheme depend on having a Nurse Practitioner role post-completion, if not what is the requirement?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that entry into the Nurse Practitioner Training Support Scheme does not require applicants to have a confirmed Nurse Practitioner role following completion. However, candidates must have employer support for the practicum year. While an intention or ability for post-completion employment may be preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement.
