20243 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: What engagement, if any, has the Minister had with Local Government NZ (LGNZ) regarding the Natural Environment Bill and Planning Bill while the Bills have been at Select Committee?

Hon Chris Bishop: On 17 December, I received a letter from LGNZ regarding submission timeframes for the Planning Bill and the Natural Environment Bill. I attended the LGNZ Metro Sector meeting on 25 February and the LGNZ Rural & Provincial Conference on 14 May. At these events, I spoke briefly about the Natural Environment Bill and the Planning Bill, as well as other relevant topics for LGNZ, including Simplifying Local Government and the head-start pathway.
