20208 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Associate Minister of Health: What monitoring or reporting mechanisms, if any, will be used to track Māori health outcomes following any changes to eligibility criteria for Type 2 diabetes medicines?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that Pharmac will monitor the post change uptake of these medicines by ethnicity and compare it with the current level of access to determine whether there was any significant impact from the change. This is standard practice when Pharmac makes access criteria changes for medicines.
