20173 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How much has Kāinga Ora paid in real estate agent fees to each agent or agency engaged for the sale of state houses since 1 January 2018?
Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that for the period from October 2025 to April 2026, it has paid Bayleys Realty Group $2,427,072 in real estate agent fees under the Master Agency Agreement. The below details how this is broken down by region - Auckland - $1,242,152 - Bay of Plenty - $94,613 - Canterbury - $486,776 - Central - $57,629 - East Coast - $131,554 - Northland - $224,238 - Otago - $57,307 - Waikato - $56,226 - Wellington - $51,247 - West Coast/Tasman - $25,329 Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it is not possible to provide the remainder of this information without diverting a significant amount of staff resources from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time and expense of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
