20139 (2026). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Immigration: What assessment, if any, has the Ministry made of the comparative rates of overstaying or immigration non-compliance between visitor visa holders and entrants from visa waiver countries?

Hon Erica Stanford: Information on overstayers has been publicly available on the Immigration New Zealand website for the last nine months. The top five overstayer nationalities by % are Tonga, Samoa, Malaysia, Fiji, and India. Of these Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and India are visa required and Malaysia is visa waiver.
