20104 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Which back-office government functions, if any, will the Ministry of Social Development prioritise for digitisation?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development’s (the Ministry) services for the future programme is a multi-year programme to transform how the Ministry operates. It will make significant changes to a wide range of underlying systems, including implementing a modern platform for staff and clients and decommissioning legacy systems. The Ministry has aligned back-office systems such as Payroll and Finance with the All of Government Common Process model.
The Ministry has implemented a new platform for their social sector partners, removing a lot of red tape. The Ministry’s current priority is implementing the first phase of a digital employment service that will enhance matching job vacancies with job seekers’ skills and experience.
