20090 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many Ministry of Social Development automated decisions, if any, have been challenged or appealed between 2023 and 2026?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that due to the way this information is recorded in Ministry systems, answering this question would require a review of all complaints received, and for the Ministry to undertake substantial manual collation diverting staff from their core duties. In accordance with the Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s questions is not in the public interest.
