Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What regular monitoring process is agreed to and resourced in relation to Ministry of Social Development automated decision-making about identifying eligible young people to invite them to join 'not in education, employment or training' services?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that the Youth Service NEET model generates referrals to Youth Service providers for consideration based on school leavers predicted to have the highest need of help transitioning from school into employment, education, or training. It complements the more common referral pathways of young people self-referring or from providers engaging with schools and their communities. The model runs fortnightly. After each run, inputs and outputs from the model are monitored/reviewed by MSD officials to check the model has run correctly.
