19966 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: What advice, if any, has the Minister received about the financial viability the Te Pūkenga division if they lose their work-based learning provision?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I have not received any advice on the financial viability of Te Pūkenga without its work-based learning divisions, given the Government is proposing to disestablish Te Pūkenga. I have been receiving regular updates on the future financial performance of Te Pūkenga’s ITP business divisions which will support Cabinet’s consideration of the number of ITPs to be established as part of the new vocational education system. I am expecting to receive updated financial modelling in the near future.
