19960 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Economic Growth: How, if at all, has artificial intelligence been deployed in a customer service function in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Nicola Willis: To date, no specialised AI tool has been deployed into MBIE’s customer service systems. With regard to New Zealand Growth Capital Partners, I am advised that it uses certain generative AI tools to assist internal day-to-day productivity but has not deployed these tools for customer service functions.
