19926 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has Cabinet considered the national interest analysis for the 2024 amendments to the International Health Regulations, if so on what date?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the parliamentary treaty examination process was not initiated and therefor no Cabinet paper was lodged. The relevant documents did not progress to Cabinet but can be considered as part of a future process. The draft timeline was developed in December 2024 for the former Minister of Health as an indicative guideline of the proposed timing to undertake the steps required for the parliamentary treaty examination process. The draft timeline was subsequently revised, but no decision was taken to initiate the parliamentary treaty examination process.
