19918 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with Sarah Dalton, executive director of The Association of Salaried Medical Specialists, speaking to Radio New Zealand's Checkpoint, that Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand should be able to deliver occupancy rates for mental health beds nationwide if requested?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand districts do collect occupancy data. The way it is recorded for the purposes of reporting, however, varies between districts. I am further advised that Health New Zealand is currently working to standardise national reporting of mental health unit occupancy data.
