Hon Penny Simmonds: The Government has approved $82.85 million to support the establishment of the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine, with the University of Waikato responsible for funding the remainder (approximately $152 million). Payment of the Government’s contribution is by instalments in accordance with a funding agreement between the Ministry of Health and the University of Waikato. The specifics of this agreement are commercially sensitive.
