Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October to December 2023 in actioning the recommendation ‘Investigate and urgently address the current blocks to COVID-19 Vaccinators Working Under Supervision transitioning to Vaccinating Health Workers’ under ‘Priority Area 1: Expansion of vaccinator workforce’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the education and authorisation to become a COVID-19 Vaccinator Working Under Supervision (CVWUS) closed in 2022, and all CVWUS authorisations ended on 1 June 2023. Therefore, no further action was taken in the period October to December 2023.
