Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October to December 2023 in actioning the recommendation ‘Align the immunisation authorisation process in Aotearoa to comparable countries, such as Australia’ under ‘Priority Area 2: Authorisation of childhood vaccinators’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in November 2023, the Immunisation Taskforce Governance Group approved the Vaccination Authorisation Operating Model and a Project Plan to enhance the Vaccinator Authorisation Portal. These enhancements will reduce some of the complexities of the authorisation requirements.
