19887 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What operational changes, if any, are being considered to increase remand prisoners’ access to services and programmes?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that work is underway at Corrections to provide a more consistent and effective level of service to people in remand and improve timely access to rehabilitation and reintegration services. I am further advised that Corrections are assessing the best possible way to support people on remand to receive the services they need. This will be done by determining which services should be provided and the most appropriate way of delivering services to the remand population at prison sites.
