19884 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: How many referrals for older persons mental health, did Health New Zealand decline in the Southern region, if any, between March 2023 and March 2024?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that 310 of the 8,632 referrals for older persons mental health in the Canterbury district were declined between March 2023 and March 2024. I am further advised that this data is not currently available for the other Southern Region districts. Health NZ is developing national reporting systems which will make this information accessible in the future.
