19878 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: How many, if any, referrals for older persons mental health, did Health New Zealand decline in the Southern region between March 2021 and March 2022?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that 537 of the 9,447 referrals for older persons mental health were declined in the Canterbury district between March 2021 and March 2022. I am further advised that this data is not currently available for the other Southern Region districts. Health NZ is developing national reporting systems which will make this information accessible in the future.
