19875 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: How many, if any, referrals for older persons mental health, did Health New Zealand decline in the Southern region between March 2020 and March 2021?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that 451 of the 9,197 referrals for older persons mental health were declined in Canterbury between March 2020 and March 2021. I am further advised that this data is not currently available for the other Southern Region districts. Health NZ is developing national reporting systems which will make this information accessible in the future.
