19875 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many women prisoners are currently completing a rehabilitation programme, if any, at each prison, and by rehabilitation service type as of 30 April 2025?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that while Corrections has previously reported on the number of people who are currently attending a rehabilitation programme during a snapshot in time, this data is onerous to provide and is not an accurate representation of the number of people who have completed a programme. For example, some programmes run for a short period of time so may not be captured by end of month reporting. Additionally, some people may start a programme but for various reasons, never complete the programme. I am further advised that Corrections holds accurate and readily reportable data on monthly programme starts and completes, which is deemed to be a more accurate representation of programme attendance and completion rates. I am further advised that the information you have requested is not centrally collated and instead requires substantial collation to accurately report on, which I am no longer prepared to ask of my officials in order to respond to this question.
