19856 (2025). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister for Rail: How many additional trucks, if any, are likely to be used over rail freight due to retiring the Aratere?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: None, as KiwiRail intends to maintain its market share. A small fleet of KiwiRail-owned trucks will serve the short-distance transferring of rail freight onto and off the Kaitaki and Kaiarahi.
