19848 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises: Has New Zealand Post offered compensation to any store owner for sunk costs in equipment or fit-out that will be rendered redundant by the withdrawal of postal services under the January 2026 network changes, and if so, how many store owners have been offered compensation and at what total value?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that NZ Post are offering support to retail partners, including financial support, to ensure a smooth transition. I am advised these stores get to keep and use any assets they purchased as part of their contract when providing NZ Post services.
