19847 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October to December 2023 in actioning the recommendation ‘Assign clear governance pathways for who is responsible for immunising individual patients, with monitoring of outcomes across all levels of the system’ under ‘Priority Area 8: Governance, technical advice and service coverage oversight’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in November 2023, the Immunisation Oversight Board was established as part of the new national immunisation governance system. The Immunisation Oversight Board is responsible for monitoring immunisation outcomes. I am further advised that General Practice retains responsibility for immunisation of enrolled patients, PHOs are responsible for outcomes related to their population, and Health New Zealand is responsible for ensuring outcomes are achieved.
