Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that NZ Post acknowledge Ministers’ feedback and will continue to prioritise clear, proactive engagement with communities. NZ Post understand how important these decisions are and since announcing changes to their retail network earlier this year, I am advised they have taken the time to look at all feedback they’ve received. NZ Post recently confirmed their final decisions on these urban retail changes to ensure the long-term sustainability of postal services. I am advised that NZ Post are now working closely with impacted stores as they work through next steps, including ensuring local communities have plenty of information available about nearby locations and other options available. Responsibility for NZ Post’s compliance with the amended Deed of Understanding sits with the Minister for Media and Communications.
