19841 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education
Written Question
Published date: 15 May 2025
19841 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: What responsibility, if any, does the Minister have for each of the 138 recommendations of the Royal Commission into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions?
Hon Erica Stanford: In my capacity as Minister of Education, I am actively contributing to the Government’s response to the recommendations made in the Royal Commission into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions reports.
The 138 recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions are complex, interdependent and are often intended to apply across all care settings rather than a specific context.
The Ministry of Education is supporting the development of the Crown Response and will be a key contributor to its implementation. As the Lead Co-ordination Minister publicly advised on 9 May, the Government's response plan is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
This is also my response to written parliamentary question 18842 (2025).
