Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October to December 2023 in actioning the recommendation ‘Pay appropriate price per vaccination as per previous reviews’ under ‘Priority Area 10: Quality and standards for providers delivering immunisations to tamariki in New Zealand’ within the ‘Initial Priorities for the National Immunisation Programme in Aotearoa 2022’?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that this recommendation has been completed. I am further advised that from 1 July 2023, the Price Per Dose (PPD) rates through the PHO Services Agreement (PHOSA) and the Integrated Community Pharmacy Services Agreement (ICPSA) were permanently uplifted to $36.05 per dose (29.5% increase) in line with the COVID-19 PPD rates. Under both agreements the immunisation co-administration rate for influenza and shingles vaccines administered to the same person on the same day was increased to $56.57.
