19827 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What measures, if any, have been taken to reduce the prevalence of oral health inequalities among Māori, Pacific Island, and socioeconomically deprived New Zealanders in the quarter October to December 2023?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to delivery its oral health promotion initiative. This aims to reduce oral health inequities by delivering free toothbrushes and toothpaste to Māori, Pacific, and low-income preschooler’s and their whānau through Hauora Māori and Pacific health providers; Well Child Tamariki Ora; B4 School Check providers; Family Start; Healthy Homes, and immunisation services. I also refer the Member to my response to Written Parliamentary Question WPQ 10268 (2024).
