Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: Was Minister Mitchell correct when he said, “Myself, as the police Minister,” in his answer to Oral Question 8 on 28 March 2024 when he was asked which Minister in the Government has primary responsibility for delivering 500 police officers within two years?

Hon Mark Mitchell: Yes. I refer the Member to my response to WPQ 5111 (2024). Further, I refer the Member specifically to paragraph 2.36 of the Cabinet Manual which states: "Responsibility for a portfolio always rests with the “portfolio” or “principal” Minister."
