19671 (2024). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Minister of Education: Further to his answer to written question 11291 (2024): what was the methodology of this data gathering exercise?

Hon Erica Stanford: This evidence was gathered by Ministry of Education curriculum leads, who engage directly with schools. The data gathering exercise took place between 20 March and 5 April 2024, via surveying 1903 English-medium state and state integrated schools across Years 0 – 6. The survey had a 92 percent response rate from the schools who were reached out to, which allows for high confidence that the findings were a fair representation of the Education system. The survey reported data on 16,994 individual teachers, which equates to approximately 49 percent of the full-time teaching workforce for Years 0 - 6. The teaching workforce for Years 0 – 3 equates to approximately 16,000 individuals. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 19675 (2024).
