19666 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to 18735 (2026), in what ways, if any, do these actions improve on the first pilot Oranga Tamariki Military-Style Academy?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that in comparison to the Pilot, improvements have been made for the second Military-Style Academy programme by placing a greater focus on the transition to community period, which can be a high-risk time for they young people. The increased coordination and collaboration across residence, social workers and multi-disciplinary teams is an improvement implemented as a result of feedback from the Pilot.
